The
crowning glory of Goa is its beaches, figuring among the best in the
world. Goa's coastal line, lies on the Arabian Sea along the slopes of the
Western Ghats - the Sahyadari range. Its seven rivers - Tricol, Chapora,
Mandovi, Zuari, Sal, Talpona and Galibaga - which are navigable throughout
the year, flow from these ranges along the vast paddy fields and coconut
and cashew plantations. Moreover is a sequence of beaches,
separated from one another by rocky headlands, bays and estuaries of
rivers. They flow west
towards the Arabian Sea - 60 km away- breaking the long coastline with
enchanting estuaries and bays which mark off idyllic palm - fringed
beaches like
Arambol,
Vagator,
Anjuna,
